UPDATE Bone Hunting Tut Part 2

UPDAAAATE Alright, things I learn later. With bird skulls, take your time, no boiling, sun bleach those puppies. If you're doing anything taxidermy related, cold weather can freeze your findings and it can either piss you off if you're skinning on field but can be awesome to preserve stuff for further cleaning if you use a freezer. Be careful, my deer finding dried out before I even found it and I couldn't use anything but the bones. If you don't like the cleaning bit at all, you can easily buy things on Etsy and Ebay. My Christmas skulls came from etsy and one from Ebay. For traveling, the US TSA is a wierd sort of group. I traveled with hog bones and had to write two statements, and my luggage still got checked (anything organic/bones they check) but they still past. I'd just ship anything if you must instead of flying with it. FOR CLEANING I found something better that 3% HP. Some stores sell 'organic' bleach, which is basically unwatered down Hydrogen Peroxide. Publix sells it under the 'Green Wise' label, some organic stores sell very overpriced versions. I heard hair bleach from beauty supply stores is also the same thing. Basically aim for non-chlorine bleaches (Chlorine is what destroys the bone).
ON BIRDS I know I mentioned it in there, but double check your birds if you find any. The bird featured in my tutorial IS a Florida Sandhill, and it was a subspecies and wasn't listed in the MBA, but it is under protection by law (It's illegal to hit one with a car, I had no idea this law covered their remains as well), so check check CHECK!! The skull fell apart because I was young and stupid, and so I let nature take it back. I learned, someone got something to crunch, so no harm done. Always double check :)

Oh man all this info is so interesting, I just need a friend to come with me and it would be perfect since I live near woods and apparently there's everything from foxes to porcupines and beavers

it's just the coyotes and bears that scare me :I
