Doe Skull Pre-Cleaning

so just yesterday my boyfriend and i came across a dumping ground somewhere in maplewood, and we collected i think 7 or 8 animal skulls -- mostly deer, but some others that i have to identify still. they're not in the greatest shape but i want to clean and preserve them and have been reading up on it online a bit... but since you've done it yourself would you mind sharing what your process was? based on my research i was planning on soaking them in boiling water for a day or so to kill any diseases, then bleaching them in a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water, then coating them in a mixture of water and PVA glue to preserve them. but i'm very nervous about either ruining them or not cleaning them well enough! it would be awesome to know what you did and how well it worked :]
